1967 Mercedes 230 SL

Called the "Golden Pagoda" in honor of its unusual pagoda shaped hardtop, the 230SL was introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in 1963. It truly was the re-invention of the sports car for daily use.The SL combined all of the comforts of a touring car and the performance of a sports car, It was designed with front and rear crumple zones--something new for the day. This particular 230SL has only traveled 62,000 miles under the care of only two long time owners. It is equipped with power steering and brakes a smooth 4 speed manual transmission, soft top and the infamous pagoda hardtop. A fresh repaint in the original red was done to high standards several years ago and is superb. The original blac tex interior is also excellent. The engine runs smooth and quiet and is a joy to drive. Now equipped with radial tires for safety, it is ready for any tour or daily use. Drive it and you will want it in your car barn !! 54,500.
